Task 1 (Academic: Report | General: Letter)

✔ Academic:

  • Follow a clear structure: Introduction → Overview → Key Features.

  • Avoid giving opinions; stick to facts.

  • Use comparative language (e.g., “while X increased, Y decreased sharply”).

  • Paraphrase the question in the introduction.

✔ General Training (Letter):

  • Identify the tone (formal/semi-formal/informal).

  • Structure: Purpose → Details → Request/Action.

  • Use appropriate greetings & closings (e.g., “Dear Sir/Madam” → “Yours faithfully”).

Task 2 (Essay – Both Versions)

✔ Structure:

  • Introduction: Paraphrase topic + state opinion.

  • Body Paragraphs (2-3): Topic sentence → Explanation → Example.

  • Conclusion: Restate main points without new ideas.

✔ Key Tips:

  • Spend 20 mins on Task 1, 40 mins on Task 2 (Task 2 carries more marks).

  • Aim for 250+ words (Task 2) and 150+ words (Task 1).

  • Avoid informal language (e.g., “kids” → “children”).
